Happy Valentine’s Day!
Sending love and light to you and yours on this day that sparks the question:
What is love? Real, unconditional love? Why do I have to only celebrate it one day a year? Why not every day?
We all grew up with an idea of what love is supposed to be. Like it’s something we have to have, have to look for, have to strive towards, or have to be good enough for.
But real, unconditional love is simple and just simply felt.
It feels good. It doesn’t make you feel needy or lacking, anxious or fearful. It’s peaceful, it’s safe, it’s grounding. It’s who we really are, who we always have been, and always will be.
It’s what we are made of. It doesn’t ask us to look a certain way, act a certain way, have a certain job, or drive a certain car. It accepts us as we truly are, no changes are required. It’s loving freely without conditions or expectations. Full acceptance, with no strings attached, and without judgments. And, it can be experienced every day, not just on one day a year!
My loving challenge for you today and every day is to unconditionally love yourself.
Here are some ways to start this challenge:
Be kind and patient, and develop a loving relationship with you, the whole you, all aspects of yourself. Love the light, as well as the dark. Without both, we wouldn’t know love or joy, and we wouldn’t have balance.
Pay attention to your needs in all areas of your life, be fully present, stop ignoring, avoiding, or neglecting your needs. What are you disassociating from? What can you bring more attention to and be present with?
Speak, treat, and see yourself with kindness, forgiveness, compassion, fairness, encouragement, patience, and gratitude. You are an amazing human being, filled with so much love and light. Start by shining that light on yourself, and then it will naturally spread to others.
Unconditional love is about being with yourself, not as a judge or critic, but as a true supportive loving friend. I always remind myself when I become self-critical: would my best friend speak to me this way?
Unconditional love is not complicated, and it’s never confusing.
It’s stable, solid, completely honest, and transparent. It’s magical, powerful, uplifting, and can overcome anything.
So, today, on Valentine’s Day, I wish you unconditional love for yourself and for others. Let it simply feel good in your soul. Let your heart shine to yourself and to your loved ones. And then let it continue on tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day…. celebrating love each and every day.
I would love to work with you for a breathwork session focusing on unconditional love. Schedule here!
